Not all pharmacies are the same

Community has always been at the heart of our business, but over the past 125 years, Community Care Chemist has evolved to become so much more than just a pharmacy.

We take pride in providing our local community with a wide range of health services.

Our highly trained pharmacists are on-hand to not only fill prescriptions but also offer recommendations regarding health products, advice on treatments for a range of conditions, and services such as vaccinations, medication reviews, diabetes education and blood pressure checks.

Our pharmacists are also part of a 12-month Community Pharmacist Pilot designed to improve patient access to health care services. Eligible patients can attend any of the five Community Care Chemist locations in the region to receive treatment for some common health conditions, such as uncomplicated UTIs, without the need to see a doctor for a prescription.

Here are just some of the services we provide across all our locations:

• Vaccinations (including COVID, influenza and shingles)

• Complex compounding (preparing customised medications from base ingredients according an individual’s medical or dietary needs).

• Nutritionist, naturopath and weight loss advice and consultations

• Diabetes education and consultations

• Antibiotics for common health conditions (such as UTIs and skin disorders)

• Free in-store medication reviews (‘MedsChecks’)

• Dose administration aids

• Medical certificates

• Blood pressure checks

Another important difference is that Community Care Chemist returns profits back into the community through subsidised services, member benefits and donations and sponsorships to local organisations. So when you choose a Community Care Chemist for your prescriptions, health products or to access one of our services, you’re contributing to a stronger and healthier community.
