What is your role at CCC Apollo Bay?

My role is Pharmacy Manager of Community Care Chemist Apollo Bay. I moved to Apollo Bay two months ago, with my wife and two children - Harriet and Macfarlane, to manage the store. I was previously a partner in Peak Pharmacies Group in Geelong, and recently sold for a sea change and lifestyle change. At the moment, I’m completing a Master of Health Administration whilst managing the store, which allows me to see the bigger picture of organisation management and community health outcomes.
What do you love most about your job?
As a pharmacist, you are a member of the primary health care team, allowing you to contribute directly to the health outcomes of the community. In a smaller town like Apollo Bay, you play a greater role in patients’ health care, and can monitor health outcomes closely. Getting to know patients and improving health outcomes is very rewarding for me personally and professionally; it’s also a very satisfying component of community pharmacy. What’s great about Community Care Chemist, is the focus on professional services and whole health solutions which gives our customers and members a choice in their health care.
What do you do in your spare time?
I love all sports - in particular snow and water sports, and I love being outdoors. I’m also a mad Hawthorn supporter, and enjoy hanging with the family exploring a new festival or activity.
If you could choose anything to do for a day what would it be?
Heliskiing with family, or teaching kids to ski in Wanaka, NZ.
