Why did you choose pharmacy as a career?
I would have to say Pharmacy found me! I had an interest in both health and science, however wanted to pursue a career that would enable me to help people on a day to day basis. So I applied to study pharmacy and the rest is history!
How long have you been working in pharmacy?
I started working in community pharmacy whilst studying at university 9 years ago. Since then I’ve worked primarily in rural/remote areas of Queensland where communities are without pharmacists.
What brought you to Community Care Chemist?
I had worked for a not-for-profit organisation pharmacy during university and loved it. So when I found out Community Care Chemist was not-for-profit I had to apply. I’ve recently located back to Victoria from Queensland 9 months ago and been at CCC ever since!
What are you most passionate about in your job?
I feel the most rewarding part of being a Pharmacist is the difference you can make in people's lives and the relationships you can build. I love working as a community pharmacist as well as getting the opportunity to conduct home medicine reviews in the patient’s home. Even small pieces of advice can be life changing for patients and to know you have made such an impact is invaluable.
What’s a fun fact about yourself/or what do you like to do outside of work?
I absolutely love baking.
