You’re a pharmacist! What made you choose this career path?
My first day working in a pharmacy was in June of 2006. I was still in high school and super excited to have landed my first job. Little did I know that I would find my calling at age 15. I enjoyed my part time job and became more familiar with what a pharmacist could do and just how important it was to the community. Inspired by the pharmacists I worked with, I applied and pursued a rewarding career. I have now been working as a pharmacist for about 5 years and absolutely love my job.
What interests/specialisation do you have in health care?
I am an immunising pharmacist and enjoy working with sleep apnoea education. However, the best thing about being a pharmacist is you can interact with and help so many different people, with so many different things on any given day. It’s this variety and the option to practice holistic, patient centred care that I really enjoy.
What do you love most about Community Care Chemist?
I’m new to the Community Care team, but I’m loving it. I particularly enjoy the patient focussed approach to health care, where pharmacists are encouraged to work with our customers to find a complete health solution.
Tell us a fun fact or about your favourite hobby?
Oooh. So many things! I love a good book and a glass of wine – my plan is to one day build a library in the house. Because, why not? I’m also a bit creative and have been singing since I was a kid – so I like to share my musical theatre love with our pets and my husband with a good old sing-a-long at home.
If you were a superhero, what would your super power be?
I think it would be teleportation. Imagine all the things you could see and experience. Want a weekend in the Scottish Highlands, no worries! An afternoon in Greece, okay!
