What have you done previously in your career?
I have been a Pharmacist since 2005, after completing training at The Geelong Hospital (now University Hospital, Barwon Health). After, I spent a year or so in Japan teaching English, before returning to purchase partnership in three community pharmacies. In 2016, I sold the partnership and moved the family to beautiful Apollo Bay and have since managed the pharmacy department at Epworth Hospital Geelong, before returning to CCC in September 2018 to take up the role as Operations Manager.
How long have you been working in pharmacy?
I started my career in Pharmacy as an intern in 2004 - with breaks in between for travel.
What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
Travel! In particular, living and working (and learning!) abroad. It helps to develop confidence and resilience, whilst encouraging you to appreciate small wins- e.g. buying a loaf of ‘sliced’ bread!
What brought you to Community Care Chemist?
As a former owner/partner in other pharmacies – looking for other opportunities beyond pharmacy ownership. CCC is a not-for-profit pharmacy with strong links to the community, and the resources to explore innovative approaches to primary health care delivery.
What are you most passionate about in your job?
Creating a fun, effective and engaged workplace, which is often reflected positively in the outcomes for our patients.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Footy, footy, footy - big Hawthorn fan. I also love the snow! It’s magic! It’s great teaching & watching my kid’s abilities (or lack thereof) develop on the slopes.
